About fringe+co
Women & LGBTQ+ Owned and Operated // Inspired By, Designed, and Made in New Orleans
Fringe + Co is a lot of things, and all of them are sparkly. We’re a brand, a community, a lifestyle, and a state of mind, all on a mission to bring more joy, fun, and pizazz to everyday life. We believe in wearable FUN—whether it’s sporting a t-shirt with gold sequin sleeves to the grocery store or throwing on a vibrant party wrap for a picnic in the park. By spreading the sparkle, Fringe has built a community of people who want to shine, have a good time, and just be themselves—all, of course, while draped in glitter.
New Orleans is Fringe + Co’s birthplace and creative home, and the city’s energy inspires every color, sequin, and sparkle. All of our goods are designed and handmade here in New Orleans. We keep our manufacturing local to ensure fair wages and safe working conditions for our production team and to practice our commitment to reinvesting in our community.
Wear what you want, be who you want, and we’ll take care of the rest. Welcome to life on the Fringe!
About Kelsey
Fringe + Co is the glittery, irreverent brainchild of creator and CSO (Chief Sequin Officer) Kelsey Campion. Before her life as a sparkle queen, Kelsey started a career in the field of forensic psychology. She loved the field, but she didn’t love what forty hours a week doing it looked like quite so much, and so she made the bold, difficult decision to leave her secure path and pursue her own twisty, sparkly creative journey. She learned to sew on a vintage 1973 sewing machine from Craigslist, and once she learned how to thread a needle, the rest is history. When Kelsey moved to New Orleans three weeks before Mardi Gras and started sporting her headwrap in Mardi Gras colors around town, people noticed, and Fringe took off.
Besides being the creative mastermind, daily showrunner, shipping department, and customer service specialist behind Fringe, Kelsey is also an emerging voice in the women-run creative business space. When she left her full-time job to devote herself to Fringe, Kelsey made a commitment to be as transparent as possible about the daily ups and downs of running a successful creative business. Whether that’s posting a breakdown of what a typical day of self-employment looks like on Instagram stories (spoiler: it involves a lot of coffee, emails and trips to the post office) or being honest about that time she bolted awake in the middle of the night wondering if she had ordered enough fringe for Mardi Gras (she had, all good), Kelsey is all about keeping discussions about the nuts and bolts of creative entrepreneurship real, honest, and down-to-earth.
