Get Your Groove on in NOLA: Festival Outfit Ideas and Inspo from Fringe+Co!

Hey, babes! It's your girl, Kelsey Campion from Fringe+Co, and today we're diving deep into New Orleans festivals. Since NOLA knows how to party like no other, you can imagine how epic the festivities are. With so many fabulous festivals throughout the year, you'll want to make sure your wardrobe is on point. So, buckle up, buttercups, because I'm about to dish out some festival outfit inspo that you can use year round.

Jazz Fest & Festival Outfits

French Quarter Festival: Let's kick it off with the French Quarter Festival, the largest showcase of Louisiana music in the world. Plus, it’s the largest free music festival in the South. With over 20 stages and a whole lot of dancing, you'll want to be comfy but still fabulous. Our recommendation? A caftan, of course! It's easy, breezy, and perfect for bathroom breaks (the struggle is real). Pair it with some comfy shoes and you're ready to boogie all day long. There are a ton of amazing local cuisine options at FQF and caftans are perfect for concealing any over indulgence in the food department. With so many different stages and places to eat, you'll be serving up a festival look that's both stylish and practical.

Jazz & Heritage Festival: Next up is Jazz Fest! It's an annual celebration of local music, art, culture, and everything we love about NOLA. With little shade and lots of exploring to do, our new Jazz Daddy & Baddie sets are a must. These sets were designed especially with Jazz Fest in mind, so you know you'll look fabulous while staying cool. Rock a hat and sunscreen, and don't forget a fanny pack for all your goodies. With so many food and craft vendors, you'll want your hands free to fully enjoy the festival experience.

Bayou Boogaloo: Let's not forget about the annual Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo! This amazing fest takes place on the banks of the Bayou St. John for three days in May, and it's the perfect time to celebrate the neighborhood with art, food, and music, of course. Featuring local favorites like Amanda Shaw, Anders Osborne, Cowboy Mouth, and Tab Benoit, this fest is a real local's gem. With its unique location on the water, fest-goers arrive in kayaks, canoes, rubber rafts, and anything else that floats!

If you're a water dweller, opt for unlined or sheer caftans to pop on over your swimsuit. You'll look fabulous while staying cool and comfortable. Want to repurpose your Jazz Baddie set? Pair it with some denim shorts for a cute and casual look. Top it all off with a party wrap, and you'll be the most stylish babe on the bayou!

Essence Music Festival: "The party with a purpose" calls for some fashion-forward outfits. Think higher heels, bright colors, and plenty of sparkle. You'll be turning heads and making a statement at the largest African-American culture and music event in the US. Since this festival allows for more daring and stylish looks, go bold with your festival outfit inspiration and don't be afraid to stand out in the crowd! A belted caftan or sequin crop would work well. And of course, a bold party wrap is a must. You can be comfortable but go for a little more structure than you would with your traditional summer festival outfit.

BUKU Music + Art Project: Finally, let's talk BUKU. This boutique event has a house-party vibe and calls for some sexy and daring outfits. We're talking body suits, bikinis, and rave wear! Grab a sheer caftan, pair a sequin crop with a bikini bottom, or top off your body suit with a party wrap and pom pom earrings. You'll be the life of the party, guaranteed! Remember, at BUKU, less is more, so be bold with your festival outfit summer choices and embrace your inner free spirit.
